When you need a break from the textbooks and classroom environment, and would like to get to know your classmates more, you might be thinking about unique ideas to create a good atmosphere and relax together. College parties have a bad reputation around the world for being loud and rough, but you can choose to do things differently. Below you will find a few ideas on how to impress your classmates and throw a unique college party that everyone will remember for years.
A party that i simply relaxed and laid back, and has no theme can be boring. If you ask your friends at college to create their own outfit or visit the local thrift store to dress up for the carnival theme, you can have loads of fun. You can have a costume competition, and dancing in costumes. You can even try to guess who is behind the mask. A college party with a theme can be a great during the first term, or just after everyone has finished their exams, and want to celebrate.
You can also have a talent show and advertise the event in the college paper, or on the notice board. Set prizes for the best acts, and specify what type of acts you are looking for. It can be singing, dancing, magic, acrobatics, or even stand up comedy. A talent show will be a good way of finding out more about the people you see every day in the classroom and the library.
If you want to up the stakes, do something that happens in college rooms every day: gaming. You might need to check out the guide to Final Fantasy XV, but it will be worth the effort. Get people to contribute some gaming consoles, and get a few big screens. You might even ask the college to use one of their rooms at the weekend for the competition, and get help from the IT department to set up your equipment and monitor the games remotely.
You can also organize a quiz night during the winter, and ask local businesses to contribute prizes for winners in exchange for free advertising. You will need a few quiz books, access to a printer, and a few tables. You can hire a room, go down to the pub, or use a classroom, if you get permission, and invite your teachers to help choose the theme and questions.
Business Pitch Night
Another great unique college party idea is recreating the “Apprentice” by allowing people to pitch teachers with unique business ideas. The main aim of the party would be to come up with ideas that you as a community can implement to earn extra money for trips and nights out.
Whether you had enough of the books, or the boring college parties, you can come up with a unique idea of organizing your own party. Get creative, involve others, including the teachers, and you will have loads of fun, get to know each other better, and have a great night.

Why Do Metropolitan Cities Have A Gravitational Pull?
The three most powerful forces that drive the future of a nation forward are the politics, culture and economy. There isn’t a particular order for this list because they cannot exist without each other. It’s a triangle of sorts that we don’t often really sit down to think about. If you look around the major capitals of the world, they all have something in common. They are becoming an oasis and in the three aspects mentioned, detaching from the rest of the country. The population in such cities as Tokyo, London, New York, Seoul and Paris are only getting higher. These cities are without a doubt very metropolitan. This cultural saturation isn’t everybody’s cup of tea. But because of the increase in job opportunities, people who wouldn’t otherwise choose to live in such a large city flock in their masses. It’s almost like these cities have their own gravitational pull that suck up the surrounding cities, towns and villages of their working age people. The younger generation more than ever, want to live in a bustling city. There are numerous reasons why this is occurring which also presents new challenges.
So why the attraction?
The majority of college students in many Western countries are now female. Thus they are the majority graduates as well. The main subjects that are being taken right now are liberal arts. These may be journalism, art and design, social care, psychology as well as acting. Many large cities have always had a solid base for these kinds of professions. There are large theatre halls, the major publications are all situated in the capitals for greater access to the political field, and there are of course many art galleries within their perimeters.
As the cycle of new and old workers continue to revolve around, the seniors in these fields all look toward the next generation whom they give a chance to continue on their businesses, companies and institutions. As the living expense in high population cities is always going to be high as food, real estate and access the public services is tight, the salaries are also high. Generally, the pay is going to be higher than if you did the same job but in a smaller city or town. Therefore many of the millennial and even young generations see the opportunity to live and work in a culturally rich, politically important and high-paying city.
Stuffed like cattle?
Now bearing in mind that major cities all have a substantial history, it’s inevitable that the buildings and infrastructure are going to be old. This means space is tight by design. The added benefit to this is that everything is relatively close, almost always within walking distance. From the local doctor to the local supermarket, everything is cosy and nearby. This is what attracts many people to adjust and even favor the city life than perhaps in a suburban environment where they grew up. Yet, as aforementioned the real estate is going to be aged. Living in cramped and small rooms are going to be the norm.
However things are changing, and it’s down to the modern designers that are making contemporary residential homes and or apartment buildings. A prime example of this new mentality that’s making waves in a positive way is MEP Design. Rethinking what can be achieved in modern apartment design, the company has its own designers and engineers. The plumbing, electrical work and mechanical aspects are done in a scope construction project.
The approach this kind of company has is perfect for urban development as the recurring theme in the overall design focus is verticality. You can’t go wide or laterally spacious in heavily populated cities. Therefore the only way is to go upward and build a fully functioning three-story home. This is great for the millennials as they are the first generation to be predominantly in the middle class. While earning a good salary, more and more people can now afford bigger apartments while living and working in the capital. Thus the quality of interior design and decor must fill the additional room that is available.
Is this sustainable?
The question of whether this trend is sustainable is rather tricky to answer. For the majority of capitals, the central zones or heart of the city is where the majority of jobs and consumerism exist. Therefore if cities are going to become more and more populated, they will have to grow larger. This can only be done vertically up to a point. The outer edges will need to be constructed upon at a rapid rate to fulfil the demand for housing. The rival question for this theory would be whether there will be enough jobs to go around. Automation is mainstream now, right from large businesses to smaller enterprises. Productivity is a hot topic because employers want a single employee must become proficient enough to do twice the work of an employee a decade ago.
This conundrum could, in fact, balance out the situation. The need for housing will be balanced by the amount or cutting of jobs in the city. If this is so, it could have a wider impact throughout nations. Suddenly the capital city is to be demoted in importance because the majority of the population cannot stuff into one location and still live in a comfortable and stable environment. Other cities and towns across their respective countries will need to develop quicker and supply good paying jobs, sufficient housing and infrastructure needs.
The lure of the big city is always going to be a powerful and romantic dream to some people. The younger generation is becoming more middle class and thus expect to be living such a lifestyle. The attraction of living among history and where many cultural trends form and evolve makes many millennials feel at home in the capital of their respective nations. It seems like modern design companies are beginning to solve the issue of urban housing shortages. Their vertical-oriented designs and modern technological takes on interiors are creating comfort in more ways than one. However, if these large cities are going to be sustainable in their population growth, a great number of small and medium-sized businesses will need to be born every year.
Is A Car Harming Your Lifestyle?
The automobile has to be one of the greatest inventions of the 20th century. Thanks to the modern car, commuting times have been cut to the bone. Now, it doesn’t take days or weeks to travel hundreds of miles. And, there is the ease element. Walking, catching the train or jumping on a bus is a difficult, drawn-out procedure for travelers. Starting up the engine of the car is effortless.
It’s easy to see the helpful side-effects of a motor, especially when it’s integral to your life. Almost every person on the planet who can afford one has a car. Still, there are side-effects which may be harming your lifestyle. Read on to find out more about the dangers of owning a car.
Health And Well-Being
The obesity stats for last year are in, and they don’t make for good reading. According to the experts, nearly 1.9 billion adults over the age of 18 are obese. As a percentage, it’s close to 20% or one-fifth of the entire population. Factors include a poor diet and a lack of exercise, the latter of which has a link to cars. Driving is quick, easy, and doesn’t cause you to lose your breath. So, it’s no wonder people would rather get behind the wheel than walk to their destination. Cutting down on driving could help you burn an extra 200-300 calories a week, which would break down body fat. As it is, the body has to find alternative ways to exercise. Considering most people don’t get the 150 minutes of exercise a week they need, this isn’t likely to happen.
Every time you board a plane, adrenaline pumps around the body. Plane crashes are rare, yet you can’t shake the nagging feeling in the back of your head. What if the engines fail? Flying seems dangerous, yet it isn’t as deadly as getting behind the wheel of a car. On average, almost 1.3 million people die as a result of an accident, and 50 million suffer an injury. Personal injury lawyers work around the clock to help their clients because car crashes never stop and never will. Even though it doesn’t seem likely, you have to prepare for the inevitable when driving. A major incident or a fender bender could cause physical and emotional harm that takes years to overcome. After all, all the predictions point to road traffic accidents becoming the fifth leading cause of death by 2030.
High cortisol levels are a health issue, but they deserve a special mention. Unlike obesity or whiplash, they are a leading cause of mental illness rather than physical. And, the brain is the most important organ in the body. As such, it’s vital that you keep it as healthy as possible yet driving might send you over the edge. Boffins reckon that 80% of drivers suffer from an attack of rage that they can’t explain. Whether it’s banging on the horn or getting into a fight, four-fifths of car owners are susceptible. You might think the latter is unlikely, but 7.6 million drivers admit to getting out of their vehicle to confront another motorist. There are legitimate reasons to get angry, particularly when you factor in the road traffic accident numbers. Still, stress is one of the leading causes of health deterioration in the western world. And, a car could add fuel to the fire.
Global warming is real and it isn’t going to stop. Indeed, it won’t until the world does something about carbon pollution. What’s one of the leading causes of CO2? Yep, it’s cars, trucks, and motorcycles. The combustion engine releases thousands of harmful toxins into the atmosphere which chip away at the ozone layer. They also contribute to a warmer planet and melting ice caps. Seen as there are 1 billion vehicles on the road worldwide, the earth’s health is going to get worse. In fact, it could be irreparable by 2040 when the number of cars is set to double. A warmer planet might not impact you, but it will harm your children and grandchildren. By the time their kids are born, there might not be a world left for them to inherit.
There are over a billion cars on the road, but that doesn’t mean they are affordable. Thanks to finance schemes, you can buy now and pay later. However, like a credit card, this can haunt you further down the line. Miss one payment and the car will be taken away, along with fines and penalties you can’t pay. Automobile debt is real and impacts millions of people around the world.
What do you think? Do the pros of cars outweigh the cons or is it the other way around?
