Hosni Mubarak ruled Egypt for almost 30 years, his policies, unlike that of Gaddafi were not that hostile towards other countries. This is the reason why western powers neither said much nor did they do much when a revolt against the rule was going on in the country.
Hosini Mubarak's Relations with India
His relations with India were neither bad nor good, in simple terms it was plain and straight. Personally the leader didn't like Indian leaders because of few misunderstandings. But he never allowed overall relations between two countries to get hostile. he kept personal opinions at one side and political at the other side. In the early ’80s, then prime minister of India, Indira Gandhi hosted a formal dinner in New York for all the leaders of NAM (Non Aligned Movement), that night by accident Hosni Mubarak was not given a seat at the Important Persons table. He still has that bad feeling in his heart and remind this incidence to any Indian he meets.
Later in 1995, then government of India awarded him with Jawaharlal Nehru Award for promoting international understanding. Though he had accepted the award, but he refused to come to India to receive it which had never happened before with India. Later in 2008, he arrived in India and received the award form the hands of Pratibha Patil, present President of India

Hosni Mubarak also considered it a bad treatment against him when Atal Bihari Vajpayee refused to receive a call from him. The call was believed to be on the subject of Kashmir.
Now when he is out of power, interrogation, questioning has started to run a case on him.
Mubarak refused to eat and drink for two days when he came to know that he is going to be questioned. when the questioning actually started he experienced a heart problem and was rushed to a hospital. When the reports of him getting back to normal started to arrive, the prosecutors resumed questioning this 82 year old leader on his hospital bed. Mubarak's sons, Gamal and Alaa, have been sent to the infamous Tora prison, where Mubarak's political prisoners were drilled for years.
Now when the condition of the leader seems to become better, the decision has been taken to transfer Mubarak from Sharm el-Sheikh to another military hospital in Cairo by plane. The prosecutor general says that interrogations has to be taken somewhere far from Cairo, the capital, for security reasons" the prosecutors are in no mood to compromise with the health leader.
Was Hosni Mubarak Bad?
This is the quesion being asked in many forums, what was the wrong thing he did? Was he bad? and so on. Hosni Mubarak was a dictator he ruled a state for 30 years and didn't allow others to take power. Elections meant nothing in his time, and since no one had any power to talk against him or challenge him, he became corrupt. Finally the public realized its power inspired by other revolutions they started their revolt against the leader, though earlier small conflicts occurred but Mubarak peacefully stepped down unlike Gaddafi.
His internal policies might have been bad, but he wasn't that bad for the world. He was strictly against Islamic militants, and had a good supporting relations with Israel which any Islamic country hardly had. His one of the reason to refuse to come to receive the award in India was that he would be later expected by the Pakistanis to come to Islamabad, being an Islamic nation. Going to Pakistan was one thing he never wanted to do because he was scared of Jehadis shooting him for keeping good relations with Israel.
Hosni Mubarak has been the target of many attacks by Islamic militants.
