on Friday, 8 April 2011

Anna Hazare in white clothes,
is he Kalki the 10th Avatar
who was supposed to come in
Machine Age?
The man who started a peaceful protest against the corruption in India was hurt when The government rejected the demand to issue a notification to constitute the draft committee for Lokpal Bill.

But the strong determination and the feeling of doing something great for the nation didn't discourage him and he has announced a nation wide Jail Bharo (fill jails) agitation/movement on April 12. Under this movement the people and supporters will peacefully protest against the government even if the government tries to arrest the people and put them in the jail.

However the protest is peaceful against government, Anna Hazare and his followers in no manner wants to disturb government or people and hence the date of Jail Bharo movement was later postponed to April 13 to avoid inconvenience to the public and authorities on Ram Navami holiday. But in anger he also warned government that the public will teach a lesson to the government by filling jails.

The term has its deep connection with the term used during British rule in India, the peaceful protest by Gandhi used to be so strong with a large number of supporters that the British authorities after arresting number of protesters used to experience lack of jails which used to prevent them from further arresting.

Style of protest has always been different in India. Without picking up arms, these protesters will embarrass the government by making them feel alien, as it will remind the government the type of protest which Indians used to do during British rule. Comparing Indian government with British authorities of that time, they will make the government realize how far it has distanced itself form the public due to corruption and some greedy leaders.

The government not only rejected the demand to issue a notification to constitute the draft committee for Lokpal Bill but also rejected the proposal for an outsider to lead the new committee of government and civil society. Though, he had declared that he will not become the chairman of the proposed draft committee for the Lokpal Bill.

There are few elements in government also who support Anna Hazare all by heart but due to complex diplomacy they are unable to come out and comment.

The protesters announced that Kapil Sibal had conveyed about this decision to them and has also said that Pranab Mukherjee will head the committee as quoted by TOI.

Comparing his protest with the fight for independence he demanded for the decentralization of the power at the centre to remove the social evil of corruption from he society, he also stated that even Mahatma Gandhi was in the favour of decentralization of the power,
